KREON and WENZEL announce a technological partnership for portable measuring solutions and 3D scanning. After intensive discussions between the management of both companies, the contracts were signed at Control in Stuttgart. WENZEL adds the KREON measuring arms and the line sensor WM | LS 70, from KREON 3D scanners range, to its product portfolio. In a modern industrial design the products were adapted to the WENZEL brand and integrated into the WENZEL software landscape.

“The world of coordinate metrology is subject to constant change. We at WENZEL are therefore always on the lookout for innovative partners who can help us to offer our customers the best possible solution on the market. Therefore the step to enter into a partnership with KREON in the field of portable measuring solutions and 3D scanners was only logical for us”, explains Managing Director Dr. Heike Wenzel.

“We are proud and happy to have signed this partnership agreement, and to link our products with the high-end solutions proposed by the WENZEL group. WENZEL is the ideal partner for spreading the best of our technology to CMM experts customers, reputed to be demanding and involved with innovation and quality“, explains Managing Director Thierry Rebillard.

Expansion of the WENZEL product portfolio

The mobile 7-axis measuring arm WM | MMA can be configured and operated with the measuring software WM | Quartis. All geometry and free-form elements supported in WM | Quartis can be recorded and evaluated tactilely. The portable and easy-to-use measuring solution increases the flexibility especially in the production environment. This is supported among other things by the integrated battery and WiFi interface. The combination of the portable 7-axis measuring arm with high-resolution line scanners, which capture every detail contact-free, makes the measuring arms a good complement to classical coordinate measuring systems. The use of the latest materials makes the measuring arm a lightweight unit that delivers accurate and reproducible measurement results in mobile applications. The measuring arm can be used directly – both optical and tactil – without warm-up time or the sticking of markers to the component or fixture.

The new line sensor WM | LS 70 was presented to the public for the first time at the Control Show in Stuttgart on a WENZEL horizontal arm measuring machine of the R-series. Together with the new partner KREON, this was adapted to the needs of the customers and also integrated into the powerful measuring software WM | Quartis. This makes further automated multi-sensor measuring sequences possible. A component can be precisely aligned with a tactile probe system such as TP20, TP200 or SP25 from Renishaw and used for measuring internal geometries and features with close tolerances. The optical line sensor is then loaded and a scan is made of the outer geometry. This makes it possible to evaluate the required surface shape tolerance and generate graphical reports with color-mapping for CAD comparison.
